⚠️ Note: Public Transportation Strongly Recommended
The Tamano Festival Fireworks is a popular event where you can enjoy fireworks along with the night view of Uno Port.
Traffic restrictions are enforced on the day of the event, and nearby parking lots fill up extremely early.
Since the venue is a bit of a walk from the station, the smartest way to enjoy the festival is to use public transportation and wear comfortable shoes.

You walk leisurely along the seaside after leaving the station, and there are plenty of spots where you can feel the sea breeze. The path was lively with many people heading toward the fireworks.

What Kind of Event Is the Tamano Festival Fireworks?
The fireworks are launched from the First Pier at Uno Port.
Compared to Japan’s major large-scale fireworks festivals, this one is more compact, but that creates a sense of unity at the venue. You can enjoy the fireworks at a relaxed pace while soaking in the atmosphere of a port town.
Gentle, Beautiful Light Reflected on the Sea
When I arrived, there were certainly many people, but it wasn’t the kind of overwhelming crowd you’d find at big-city events. It was pleasantly lively.
As I waited along the waterfront, the fireworks finally began.
What moved me the most was the reflection of the fireworks on the surface of the sea.
The calm Seto Inland Sea mirrored the bursts of light blooming in the night sky, creating a dreamy, almost surreal scene. With nothing blocking the view, it was a breathtaking moment unique to a port setting—I found myself completely absorbed.

Summary
Because the venue is a little distance from the station, you can enjoy the charming port-town atmosphere along the way. Large-scale fireworks festivals are great, but Tamano offers a more relaxed, mature way to enjoy summer—taking in fireworks reflected on the sea while surrounded by the gentle Seto Inland Sea nightscape.
If you visit, be sure to savor the scenery along with the fireworks!
